Fans turned out in there thousands to welcome cyclist Cadel Evans back home to Australia, today he made an appearance in Melbourne which included a victory ride down St Kilda Road which lead through to Federation square, the road was lined either side with adoring fans but the largest crowd was at the main stage were some 25’000 people came to cheer on there her0. Cadel Evans is the first Australian rider to win the Tour de France since it started over 108 years ago, and is also the oldest rider to win the race.
It was pandemonium from when we arrived at about 11am, and finally we found a clear spot to get some photos of Cadel around the 300m mark, it was an awesome experience and one that shall be remembered for a very long time. There was alot of yellow about, from people wearing yellow jerseys, weird but well constructed hats and even some people waving wattle and yellow daffodils with there Cadel signs.
