It almost seems like yesterday that we were at the Logies last year, and here we are 12 months down the track and at it yet again, this year there was almost hints of a “Golden Globe” style setup with a long red carpet walk to the media wall and all the photographers, which gave fans more time to see there beloved stars. This year had a star studded line up with the likes of Andre Rieu, Katy Perry, Jessie J to add to the stars of Australian Television.

Canon EOS-30D with 70-200mm, 70mm @ F/4.0, 1/125sec

The fashion this year on the red carpet was all about “colour” in addition to glitz, glam, lace n flowing trails. Each female star, actress, guest on the red carpet were dressed by various Australian designers who would be seen by millions of viewers from around Australia. We give thanks to Crown Casino, Lantern PR and all the stars who attended for a great night, and congratulations to Karl Stefanovic on winning the gold logie.

With an air of mystery, and the smell of ancient bouquet of unknown treasures, the “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” was launched in Melbourne today. A number of media patrons were treated to being some of the first to see the treasures that had journeyed all the way from Cairo Museum in Egypt.

Canon ESO-30D with 50mm, 50mm @ F/2.8, 1/80sec

Decorated Chests, Statues, Sarcophagus, Daggers, and jewelry were just some of the items that made up the exhibit, precious gold and precious stones and intricate detail was shown in almost every piece, however it was very hard to get over the fact that a lot of these artifacts were over 3000 yrs old and some hid there age very well.

Canon EOS-30D with 50mm, 50mm @ F/4.0, 1/100sec

The exhibition is in Melbourne from the 8th April and closes on the 17th July 2011 were the artifacts are packed up and taken directly back to Egypt, it was quoted by many at the launch that it will probably be the only time in our current generation that something of such a great magnitude will reach our shores. A special thanks goes to National Geographic Society, Arts International, IMG, Melbourne Museum, The Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and LimeLight PR.

Everyone who attended was greeted with a Bollywood themed venue with guests and celebrities being given rings, bracelets or silk scarves. It was great to see some of the players getting out and being able to see some of the sites in Melbourne and being able to relax and have fun before some of the serious side of tennis starts.

“Its a Beautiful Daaaaayyy” were the words heard by hundreds on a very overcast and dreary night in December, but it was not in anyway enough to deter 60,000 fans on seeing there much loved rock group. Playing songs from the past and songs from there new album, U2 gave the crowds exactly what they had come for.

Canon EOS-30D with 70-200, 200mm @ F/4.0, 125sec

Fans were also treated to a 360 degree view of the stage, which also included a huge screen which was fed by cameras on each of the stage legs, which is a engineering feet in its own, and we give thanks to all the technicians who works long hours to construct it, only to have to disassemble it on Friday.

Canon EOS-30D with 70-200mm, 70mm @ F.4.0, 1/250 sec

Three songs later, all photographers were taken away from the event, this is pretty standard practice in the music industry and especially big events , some can be for one or two songs. We wish to thank all parties involved who allowed us such an awesome opportunity.
