Melbourne Cup Week – Fashion, Women and Horse Racing

Well, with the Melbourne Cup week over I now have a chance to write up on my experiences, that happened. I attend one of the days of the week being “Oaks Day” were women wear there best frocks and fashion on the day is at its utmost peak. However on the day I was not there in any professional capacity and simply took a camera along to record the sights.

Through a close friend I was able to attend and see “Fashion on the Field” during which I met Carson Kressley who was more then happy to allow me to take a photo with him, however the real score was the designer “Leanne Bonello” that I attended with as she was photographed with Carson kissing her cheek, and passing on some hot tips.

The “Fashion on the Field” was impressive and my personal pick from the line up was a design by “Donny Galella”, to me it looked to have a very 1940’s influence

However as the day went on the experiences just kept on getting better and better. It has always been a dream of mine to access “The Birdcage” at Flemington as this is were all the celebrities hide out from the “general” public and walk about with Media and Camera crew alike photographing and or filming the area

I was lucky enough with a help of my designer friend to access the area and meet with Vince Colosimo (UnderBelly), Charli Delaney (Ex – Hi5), Laura Dundovic (Miss Universe Australia) I was made aware that the head peice that Laura was wearing was worth $1M, not bad.

I just want to give a special thanks to Christine and Leanne for making the day what it was, I did not expect half of what happened and to think this was just put together overnight, I dare even imagine what will happen if its planned.
