Yet again Melbourne’s night life with given some extra glitz and glam with the launch of “30 Days of Fashion and Beauty” at the Regent Theatre. A line up of celebrities graced the red carpet however there were some highlighted names that media and public alike crowded the sidewalks to get a photo of or even just a glimse of. Who was it you ask, none other than the stunning Eva Mendes, but no sooner did she arrive, and photographed by the media she was then whisked away by a small entourage of cars, unfortunately we were unable to find out were to.
Staring in the film “GhostRider” with Nicholas Cage, Melbourne has a claim to fame as being the city that it was filmed in, various locations were used, one of which being the corner of Collins and Williams street in the CBD, the exact same location that Nicholas Cage used in his new film “Knowing” which is to be released in the new year.
Joining Eva Mendes on the red carpet were Lara Bingle (Ambassador) who is widely known for her commercial with that inaugural catch phrase “Were the bloody hell are you” which caused some controversy over in the UK. They were also joined by Nikki Phillips (Australian Face), who was quoted as “Modelling’s current “it” girl and the face of ACP’s 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty. At just 24, Nikki Phillips has ten years of super-modelling behind her, having strolled the runway for Dior, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana, hosted TV shows and appeared in Hollywood movies.” Source: 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty
Melbourne has played host to a variety of celebrities over the last few months, however all being directed at the fashion world, with only days to go before the opening of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, its only natural for all eyes to turn to the Fashion industry for the new looks of 2008/09.
