Fans, Media and Public a like descended on the Regent theatre in Melbourne over the last few nights to honor and acknowledge some of the Australia’s Film and Television’s best known talent. With a star studded line up that included big names such as Anthony Lapaglia, Brandon Walters, Toni Collette, Baz Luhrmann, Bryan Brown, Sigrid Thornton, Frances O’Conner and Vanessa Amarossi which only names a few that attended over the two nights.
All in all the red carpet was alight with the flashes of camera’s, trails of cables to film cameras and journalists all wanting to get that vital photo, footage, and if possible a hint on who would get what award. With out a doubt the whole experience over the two nights was insane, and I look forward to doing again next year, with the hopes that I will have access to shoot more then just the red carpet. Some interesting stats were given to me when I picked up the media kit on the Friday:
170 square metres of red carpet will be rolled out for the stars and then to add to that 92m of fencing will enclose the red carpet area at the Regent Theatre. The red carpet will take some serious beating as its quoted that 1,000 pairs of heels will walk the red carpet over the two nights. Once inside 8000 drinks will be served over the two nights with include 4000 straws, then lets not forget to mention the wine, 960 bottles of Sandalford Margaret River Range Classic White and 960 Sandalford Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon will be served and then to end the night 25 chefs will prepare the supper at the after party. And then to record those who arrive 200 media will line the red carpet (Yes I am apart of that statistic)
