Little side alleys in Melbourne hold great and unique discoveries, and this is no different to those off Clarendon Street, South Melbourne, take a small walk onto Coventry Street and then the first left and your well on your way to ‘St Ali‘
Mixed in with the smells of fresh coffee, you will find unique cuisine’s, we were given a taste of Entree: Steamed Oysters – Spring onion Coriander cress and Soy Mirin dressing // Tempura Asian Mushrooms with soy dipping sauce // Seared Scallop on the half shell with baby cress, sweet fish sauce and kaffir lime and then for Mains: Grilled Kingfish heads with togaroshi, ponzu, fresh lemon and shiso cress created by Head Chef ‘Ben Cooper‘ and his team.
“Vitasoy Vs St Ali – Celebrate the Bean Juice” – is a celebration of the “bean juice”. Cocktails served up by Der Raum, Australia’s best cocktail bar and third top bar in the world, there main creation being the “Soy espresso martini with Vitasoy Organic Soy Milk”. Stylish canapés will be dished out by St Ali Head Chef, Ben Cooper with heavenly dessert bites by Philipa Sibley of il Fornaio, Masterchef and three hatted chef. Included were ‘Circus acts’ from Phire Kat with music from DJs Mike Kats, Galapagoose, Sean Deans, JPS and Nam.
